Our team
My name is Danny Janssen. I started working at the company as a small child, when it was still owned by my father Henk Janssen, but from 2008 I officially started working at Aquaja next to my studies. After completing my studies in commercial economics, I started working full-time on January 2011.
Since 2015 I have become director and owner of Aquaja. I am responsible for sales, management and strategy determination. My colleagues direct the internal processes and I am responsible for the external part. This includes visiting customers, trade fairs, suppliers, etc. Where, for example, our manager Tom takes care of the daily management and our production manager Nigel manages the production, I maintain contact with our customers and our sales staff in Germany, France and England.
My name is Tom Bootsma and I am 33 years old. I work as a company director at Aquaja. I started as an intern in 2011. Nowadays I am responsible for, among other things, designing the various animal departments, maintaining customer contacts and the day-to-day business within Aquaja.
My name is Nigel Heylighen and I am 24 years old. My first encounter with Aquaja was in 2015 when I did my first internship here. Several internship periods later, I started working full-time at Aquaja since July 2021 as responsible for the Aquaja Diamond Line. Since February 2022, I am the production and process manager. I am responsible for matters such as production planning, controlling production and performing quality checks.
My name is Vince Dullens, I am 24 years old and I am responsible for all matters related to the Aquaja Diamond Line. I am responsible for the customer contact, transport, webshop, marketing and providing a good service. I also take care of the marketing of Aquaja. After successfully completing my graduation internship at Aquaja in 2020 (Commercial Management), I started working at Aquaja immediately. As far as marketing is concerned, I am involved on a daily basis with devising, designing and publishing content. I’m always looking for ways to get in touch with our target audience.
My name is Diana Joosten. I started working at Aquaja in 2018. My position within the company is back office commercial assistant. I am the first point of contact for suppliers and customers. I am also responsible for the purchase of all products. In addition to purchasing all products, I also ensure that quotations and invoices are drawn up and sent. Every day I am busy looking for and negotiating for the right suppliers. I do this partly by analyzing the purchasing process so that we can always look for improvements.
My name is Jo Meuwissen and I have been working for Aquaja since 2015. I am responsible for the administration in the broadest sense of the word. For me, working at Aquaja is almost a hobby; Despite my age of (almost) 70 years, I enjoy coming to work.
I have seen the company grow over the years and am proud of the achievements of the entire team.
My name is Dries de Bont and I am 42 years old. I have been working since the end of 2015 to strengthen the position of Aquaja in Wallonia and in France. I take care of the acquisition towards the retail chains and marketing of Aquaja in the French-speaking countries. Highlights of my time at Aquaja are the company parties at the start of the summer and the end of the year. I also find the many trips to France to meet new customers very interesting challenges!
John has been working for Aquaja in the UK since 2016. John started his career in garden centers where he spent most of his life working in the aquarium industry and other pets, especially reptiles.
John has successfully supervised Aquaja projects in garden centres, reptile specialist shops, pet shops and aquarium specialists in England and Ireland. John has expertise in the field of tropical fish, seawater fish, pond fish to plant islands, reptiles, rodents and birds.
My name is Ron and my nickname is Ronnie Balboa. In 2012 I started working at Aquaja. I started at Aquaja as a production employee. I have been active as a service manager since 2015. My tasks and responsibilities are quite diverse: after sales, solving service problems, installing projects, etc.
During my work as a service technician I am in contact with the customers a lot, this is really my highlight while working. When I started as a production employee and I heard that I could make the growth as a service technician, I was really proud of myself. I will not forget this. In addition, I am pleased to see that the company has experienced international growth in recent years. And since I get to install the projects, this means that I have been able to visit many countries in recent years, even as far as Israel. Furthermore, the mutual atmosphere during staff parties, trips, breaks, etc. is very good.
My name is Jack and in 2021 I started as a service and installation engineer for Aquaja. After working for years in the advertising industry, this is a very nice new challenge for me. In my work I am often on the road together with my colleagues to install our projects and to provide service on location.
Through the installations I see many places in Europe and even the world! For example, the installation of a project for a customer in Dubai in early 2022 was a very nice project.
My name is Jim Reid and I have been working at Aquaja since July 2022 as a service and installation engineer. I am often on the road together with my colleagues to install our projects and to provide service on location.
My name is Rick, but my nickname is Rickert. After completing my education at Sint Jansberg Maaseik, I immediately started working at Aquaja in 2000. My job is to make aquariums and I am specialized in gluing aquariums. I also helped with setting up the Aquaja Diamond line. In the recent years I have also become more and more involved in special shop fitting projects.
My name is Sergio Latumahina. I started working at Aquaja in April 2020. I am a production employee and the focus in my work is mainly on shop fitting. From my education I am specialized in woodworking, this is also my passion. I also occasionally go along with installations.
My name is Har Hamacher. I joined Aquaja in 2006. I am a production worker and I am specialized in glueing aquariums and the production of racks for the sale of livestock. Every project that goes out and that I have worked on is a highlight for me. I think it’s nice to see images of the racks placed in the relevant store afterwards!
My name is Ivo and I joined Aquaja in June 2022. I am mainly involved in producing aquariums with glueing as a specialization. Think of the production of Aquaja Diamond Line aquariums and fish basins. When necessary, I also work as an interior builder.
My name is Jos and I have been working at Aquaja as a glass operator since 2018. Together with my colleague Anton, I operate the entire Aquaja glass park: the computer-controlled cutting table, the grinding machine, the washing machine and the glass drilling machine.
My name is Anton and I have been working at Aquaja as a glass operator since 2020. Together with my colleague Jos, I operate the entire Aquaja glass park: the computer-controlled cutting table, the grinding machine, the washing machine and the glass drilling machine.
My name is Hans and I have been working at Aquaja since June 2022 as a production employee.
My name is Piet and I have been working for Aquaja for a very long time. I am responsible for the logistics flow within Aquaja. This means for my daily work that I am busy with the receipt of goods, but especially with the outgoing products from Aquaja.
