Our Story
Family company
Aquaja is an internationally operating family company based in the Netherlands. Over 30 years ago, Henk Janssen founded the company with his brother-in-law Hub. Since then, Aquaja has grown into one of the leading companies for customized shop fittings for the display of livestock.
In 2015, Danny Janssen, the current owner, took over the company from his father. Danny officially started working for Aquaja in 2008, but he had been familiar with the business since he was a small child, running around the original location in Roosteren. After graduating with a degree in commercial economics, Danny began working full-time in 2011.
Under Danny’s leadership, Aquaja moved to its current location in Echt, the Netherlands, in 2015. The new building soon proved too small, and in the summer of 2021, we expanded our space to accommodate our growing operations.

From design to realisation
Our work is primarily based on custom designs tailored to the needs of chain stores and individual shops. We use high-quality materials and accessories (air pumps, filters, etc.) sourced from reputable European brands in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. All shelves are fully manufactured in-house.
This meticulous preparation results in a significantly shorter installation period in the store—approximately one hour per shelf. Our key strengths include flexibility, short delivery times, a strategic geographical location near major markets such as France and Germany, proximity to important highways and airports, an excellent price-quality ratio, and outstanding after-sales service.
